Pandora's Box

Genealogy can be Pandora's box, you need to be open to what information is found. 

You may find through DNA that you aren't related to the people you thought you were. DNA doesn't lie. 

You might find people who got in trouble with the law. 

You might find slaveholders.

You might find people who fought on the wrong side of history. 

You might find people whose actions you are ashamed of. 

Regardless of what you find, it is these individuals who made it possible for you to be here today. Learn about them so you can better understand yourself. 

You will find leaders.

You will find people you are proud to be descended from.

You will find adversity that you didn't know existed. 

You may find that you feel the emotions they felt (sadness, fear, powerless, anger) 

I will not research living people. I will use what you give me on living people to create the foundations of your tree, but I won't take a deep dive into who they are. 

With DNA I will give you the basics, I will not promise to be 100% accurate results.
